pic1I just found this really great company called Sprout.  This is a really neat idea.  Basically they make pencils and colored pencils that you can use just like any other pencil.  However, when it gets to small to use, instead of just throwing it away.  Plant the end of it into a pot of dirt and add some water and sunlight.  Before you know it you will have a great plant (they have all different kinds).  The pencil I got will grow into marigolds!  This is the neatest sustainable product I have seen in awhile.  It’s so important these days to think beyond right now (right now I need a pencil), we need to think about the future consequences that if I keep using pencils eventually the trees cut down to make them will be wiped out.  With Sprout we can give back to our environment by recycling our pencil into more plants.  Such a great idea.  They have lot of other plants as well including herbs that you can eat.

Here is some additional information from the company:

At Sprout we wanted to face the whole throw-away culture, starting with the most basic of our everyday utencils: What if instead of throwing your pencil stubs away you could plant them and have them grow into something delicious, beautiful, and fun?

We asked ourselves this question, gave it a shot and Sprout was born.
We’re really happy to present the world’s first pencil that grows!

You can find Sprout on their Website & Amazon!

I received this item complimentary or at a reduced price for my honest review. However, I only recommend products I truly love and use to my readers. #AmazonReview
