Hudson Cast Iron Cleaner

on June 23, 2015

pic1I absolutely love my cast iron skillets, I inherited them from my grandmother who taught me how to cook by having me along side her in her multiple restaurants and cafes as I grew up.  However, cleaning them is not always easy.  I really had reduced to using just water and paper towels to remove the excess grease.  However, my grandmother always told me that years of use just makes them have better flavor.  I love this Hudson cast iron cleaner.  It’s basically just a square of chain that you can use on your cast iron that will help to scrub the pan and get those left on foods off.  Since cast iron is poreus you can’t use soaps or cleaners and even a sponge could do some damage.  These cast iron cleaners from Hudson are great.  My favorite feature is the metal hook so you can hand it up when you are not using it, super convenient.

Here is some additional information from the company:

  • Hudson XL chainmail scrubber is the ideal way to effectively and easily clean your cast iron cookware without stripping away accumulated flavor and seasoning
  • Handcrafted rings made from the highest grade 316L stainless steel- the highest food grade steel in the industry
  • Effortlessly cleans cast iron, stainless steel, glassware, pyrex, and other cookware
  • Ultra hygienic and dishwasher safe
  • Perfect for cast iron restoration
